Art Critique for Coil Baskets
Coil Basket Critique
During student teaching I had the Advanced Art Classes take part in a critique of their completed baskets. Each student answered questions about their basket in a critique forum. Framed by four pillars – Description, Analysis, Interpretation and Evaluation, each critique allowed students to assess their own progress. In art, the critique is an important part of Discipline Based Art Education, or DBAE. It challenges students to create an ongoing discussion about their art and about their peers’ art.
Standard IV challenges me to create a learning environment that promotes student growth as their evaluate their performance.
