As an artist I delight in the aesthetic value of things. My art is more of an introspection of who I am. The basic theme of my work is often a reflection of past events or making light of more recent ones.

I have often said that I don’t take myself incredibly serious as artist. Those words have proved invalid, and perhaps a more apt way to describe my art as it is for my own pleasure, and maybe a few of my close friends who were there. My art explores a more esoteric means of conveying a joke. Text is usually included, but doesn’t give the audience a large window of understanding other than a line from a song, something said to me, or an excerpt of poetry or prose that relates to how I feel. Other times it’s an inside joke or a humorous depiction of a difficult time that I am going through in order to gain some perspective on how in the scheme of things, that it will pass.

One theme that remains steadfast in my work is music. It envelopes the play on words of “mixed media” that I feel give the audience a more dynamic view of how I ended up at this visual representation of a particular event, or commentary thereof. I like to explore the invocation of multiple intelligences within a work in order to gain some understanding about my character and the character of those around me. My goal is to transcend language and culture to the best of my abilities, in a fashion that offers a breath of fresh air to a broken world.
